The Jerusalem Foundation is organising a gala dinner in Milan on 17 October, in the Salone d’Onore of the Triennale, with a Fine Wine auction conducted by Sotheby’s.

The proceeds of the evening will fund projects for the inhabitants of Jerusalem without distinction of culture or religion: a science museum for young people, a symbol of integration, culture and civilisation; environmental conservation within the wide-ranging “Gazelle Valley” regeneration project; and more.

Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi will take part in the event by donating a wooden case containing 6 bottles of Super Tuscan, Rosso Colli Toscana Centrale IGT, “Mazzaferrata 2009”, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine was born in the 1980s, when Bernardo Gondi began experimenting with Cabernet; he decided to purchase barriques and to try his hand at a few blends. After several attempts, in 1989 he concluded that the best choice for Tenuta Bossi’s first Super Tuscan was a single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon. Given the wine’s power and structure, he chose a name that evokes the family’s warrior origins.

APPEARANCE: Impenetrable ruby red, of great visual impact.

NOSE: Very intense and highly complex, opening with wild berries and then unfolding into balsamic and toasted notes. The spice is sweet, with hints of liquorice and black pepper, closing on nuances of dark chocolate.

PALATE: Powerful and rich, with tight, silky tannins. The wild berries and the toasted, spicy notes return on the palate. A wine of great personality.
