Wine Enthusiast 2015

In the September issue of Wine Enthusiast, two further excellent scores go to Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi.

Wine Enthusiast rated the Riserva Chianti Rufina DOCG “Villa Bossi 2010” at 88/100 and the Riserva Chianti Rufina DOCG “Pian dei Sorbi 2010” at 87/100.

You will recognise Pian dei Sorbi 2010 in particular by its colour: full ruby red with light violet glints; nose: great personality, retaining a fruitiness with fragrances of ripe fruit, raspberry and blackcurrant, which then opens into sweet spice of vanilla, cinnamon and clove, closing with nuances recalling leather and tobacco. And finally on the palate: the entry is soft and elegant with well-judged tannins and supporting freshness; the finish is markedly savoury, retaining a delicious red-fruit note and a clear aromatic harmony with sweet blond tobacco.
