Vitae 2019 and Cardinal de Retz

Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi wins further accolades; the news comes from the Vitae 2019 guide, published by the Associazione Italiana Sommelier.
Among the excellent scores awarded to the Marchesi Gondi wines, the Vin Santo del Chianti Rufina Riserva DOC Cardinal de Retz 2006 stands out with three and a half vine shoots, equal to a score of 90/100.
You will recognise this wine at once: amber in colour with intense tawny shadings. Great aromatic intensity with remarkable complexity and breadth of perfume. Mellow notes of apricot, dried fig, almond, caramel, candied fruit, date and chestnut honey close with sweet spice and a slightly ethereal finish. On the palate it is sweet, mellow and round, with both elegance and strength. Its gustatory balance is intriguing: over a structure entirely governed by an elegant alcoholic note, it finds supporting freshness. The finish is extremely long, echoing all the notes perceived on the nose, dried apricot in particular.
