Vinum 2020 - Top of Toskana

In Vinum 2020, the Top of Toskana dossier features a wonderful article on Florence’s historic winemaking families who still own a palazzo in the city. The Marchesi Gondi wine that brings together elements of both Palazzo Gondi and Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi is the Rosso dei Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT Fiammae 2016.
This wine is a brilliant ruby red. On the nose it is highly intense and greatly complex, with sensations that open on red fruit, both fresh and dried — cherry, strawberry, raspberry — before turning to spicy and toasted notes. The spice is sweet, closing with nuances of dark chocolate and sweet tobacco. On the palate it is powerful and rich, with tight, silky tannins. The mouth echoes the fruity notes of strawberry and cherry alongside the toasted and spicy ones. A wine of great personality!
