Vini D’Italia 2021 - Gambero Rosso and Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi

Another splendid distinction comes to Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi: the news arrives from the Vini d’Italia 201 guide published by Gambero Rosso, which has awarded 2 glasses to the Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG Villa Bossi 2016, the Rosso dei Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT Mazzaferrata 2015 and Ser Amerigo 2015 and the Vinsanto del Chianti Rufina DOC Riserva Cardinal de Retz 2007.

Cardinal de Retz 2007 is amber in colour with deep tawny nuances. Great aromatic intensity, with remarkable complexity and breadth. Soft notes of dried fig and apricot, almond, caramel, candied orange peel, date and chestnut honey close on a sweet spice and a faintly ethereal finish. On the palate it is sweet, soft and round, with both elegance and strength. The balance is intriguing: on a structure entirely governed by an elegant note of alcohol it finds supporting freshness. The finish is extremely long, echoing all the notes found on the nose, dried apricot above all.
