In the 2016/2017 edition of the guide, of the two Chianti Rufina DOCG Riservas, Pian dei Sorbi 2012 scored 90/100 and Villa Bossi 2011 scored 89/100, while of the two Rosso Colli Toscana Centrale IGT wines, Mazzaferrata 2010 scored 89/100 and Ser Amerigo 2010 88/100.

You will know the Pian dei Sorbi Riserva by its appearance: full ruby red with light violet glints; on the nose: great personality, holding a fruitiness of ripe fruit, raspberry and cassis that opens into sweet spice of vanilla, cinnamon and clove, closing with nuances recalling leather, tobacco and black pepper; and finally on the palate: the entry is soft and elegant, with well-judged tannins and supporting freshness, while the finish stands out for its savouriness, keeping a delicious note of red fruit and a clear aromatic accord with sweet blond tobacco.
