Story of My Wine: Ser Amerigo 2009

Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi has earned another distinction. We have received an advance announcement from Storyofmywine.com: our Rosso Colli Toscana Centrale IGT Ser Amerigo 2009 has been awarded the Bronze medal, scoring 89/100 points.
Ser Amerigo is a feminine wine, seductive and modern, made from a blend of international and native varieties: 40% Merlot, 40% Sangiovese and 20% Colorino.
Colour: lively ruby red with garnet reflections. Nose: complex, showing notes of fruit preserve, cinchona and rhubarb, plum and cherry in particular, opening into successive notes of undergrowth and tobacco. Palate: great personality, with a refined tannic weave and a vivid savouriness that speaks of fine balance, softened by a generous fruity embrace; the close is balsamic and spiced.
This wine is thus made of two souls: the nose offers the sweet, fruity notes typical of Merlot, while the palate brings out the persistence and strength of Sangiovese, characteristic of the Chianti Rufina land.
