AIS SEMINAR IN THE CHIANTI RUFINA

On Saturday 26 September, in the splendid setting of Villa Poggio Reale in Rufina, a seminar was held exploring the land and the wines of Chianti Rufina through a VERTICAL tasting of Chianti Rufina spanning the last 25 years; the seminar was held for AIS Toscana. Marchesi Gondi took part in this splendid initiative of the consortium, presenting for tasting the Chianti Rufina Riserva Villa Bossi 2005: a deep ruby red with fine colouring texture and light garnet reflections. A striking aromatic impact of cherry and ripe, macerated blackberry, followed by sweet, integrated vanilla spice with balsamic and toasted nuances. The finish reveals notes of liquorice and coffee. On the palate, great structure and character. The wine's fullness shows in the roundness and personality of the tannins; the finish is long, with fruity and mineral notes closing on a pleasing hint of liquorice and coffee.
