The Riserva Chianti Rufina DOCG, VILLA BOSSI 2009, was awarded a score of 90/100 in the 2014/2015 edition of the eRobertParker.com guide, The Independent Consumer’s Guide to Fine Wines.

For the estate, Villa Bossi has always represented the fullest expression of the land and the finest selection of the blend that defines this wine: 80% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It might be called a Gran Riserva, a Grand Cru or a wine for contemplation. Always the flagship wine, it is a structured and remarkably long-lived Riserva, made from these varieties only since 1988.

Colour: deep, dense ruby red, with fine colouring texture and light garnet reflections. Nose: a striking aromatic impact of cherry and ripe, macerated blackberry, followed by sweet, integrated spice of liquorice with balsamic and toasted nuances. The finish reveals notes of cocoa and coffee. Palate: great structure and character. The wine's fullness shows in the interplay of softness and tannins of real personality; the finish is long, with fruity and mineral notes closing on a pleasing hint of liquorice.

Pairing: braised dishes and roasts of large game, well-aged and mature cheeses.
