Marco Calafati - Gondi, a Florentine Dynasty and Its Palace

In the book “Gondi, a Florentine Dynasty and Its Palace”, Marco Calafati has written the history of the ancient family of goldbeaters, bankers, statesmen and ambassadors between Florence and Paris.

A graduate in Art History from the University of Florence, he worked at the Institute of Human Sciences (Palazzo Strozzi, Florence) and at the École pratique des Hautes Études (Sorbonne, Paris) on a project devoted to the Gondi family’s patronage in the France of Caterina de’ Medici. He is the author of volumes on Bartolomeo Ammannati and on the Grifoni (now Budini Gattai) and Giugni palaces in Florence.
