JOOP - JAPAN OLIVE OIL PRIZE 2021

Today we received another wonderful piece of news. The oils of Fattoria Volmiano have been awarded the gold medal at the prestigious competition JOOP - Japan Olive Oil Prize 2021.

The Laudemio di Volmiano in particular is intended as our interpretation of the unique character of the estate’s land. The property extends over steeply sloping ground, given over to heroic olive growing, from rocky plateaux down to cool clay valleys. We want its fresh, elegant aromas of rocket and almond to speak of the opening of the valleys, of the spring breezes that carry the scents of wild herbs. The bitter artichoke notes faithfully convey the vigour and strength of nature and of the olive trees, which we pursue through respectful agronomic practices. The spice that closes the tasting and refreshes the palate is the fruit of the high concentration of vitamins in our oil. Because at Volmiano we have chosen to sacrifice the quantity our 22,000 trees would allow us to produce, in favour of a singular quality that makes our oil unique and inimitable.
