Grand Tour of the Historic Houses

One of the most important fairs, the 50th Vinitaly in Verona, closed a few days ago.

This year the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane presented the Grand Tour of the Historic Houses, an itinerary touching every Italian region through 50 member wineries.

Marchesi Gondi -Tenuta Bossi also took part in this splendid initiative, pouring all of our outstanding wines: the IGT Rosso Colli della Toscana Centrale, Mazzaferrata 2009 and Ser Amerigo 2008, the Riserva Chianti Rufina DOCG Villa Bossi 2010 and the Vin Santo del Chianti Rufina Riserva DOC Cardinal de Retz 2004, as well as the wines due for release in the following months: the San Giuliano 2013 Chianti Rufina DOCG, the Sassobianco 2015 Bianco dei Colli dell’Etruria Centrale and the Violana 2015 IGT Colli della Toscana Centrale Rosato.

Visitors will be able to taste in particular the Super Tuscan (IGT) Ser Amerigo 2008. Appearance: lively ruby red with purple highlights. Nose: a complex, intense and immediately appealing impact. Varied notes of wild berry preserve and cherry in syrup emerge, with spicy hints of liquorice and cinnamon, opening in the glass into nuances of leather and tobacco. Palate: weighty and dynamic at once, showing on the one hand the power, savouriness and freshness of Sangiovese, on the other the generous fruit of Merlot. The tannins are well integrated and give a structural frame that makes this a seductive and elegant wine.
