Eno Club: Sangiovese Purosangue 2015

On 17 and 18 January the Sangiovese Purosangue 2015 event, organised by EnoClub Siena, will be held in Rome at the Radisson Blu Hotel, an occasion to taste wines made from Sangiovese.

Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi will take part in the event, presenting the Chianti Rufina Riserva VILLA BOSSI 2009 for tasting. For the estate, this wine has always represented the fullest expression of the territory, that is to say the finest selection of the blend that defines it: 80% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. One might call it a Gran Riserva, a Grand Cru or a wine for contemplation. Always the estate's flagship, it is a structured and very long-lived Riserva, made with these varieties only since 1988.

Appearance: intense, deep ruby red, with good depth of colour and light garnet reflections. Nose: great impact, with fruit of cherry and ripe, macerated blackberry, followed by sweet, well-integrated spice of liquorice with balsamic and toasted shadings. The finish brings notes of cocoa and coffee. Palate: great structure and character. The fullness of the wine shows in the interplay of softness and tannins of good personality; the finish is long, with fruity and mineral notes, closing on a pleasant note of liquorice.
