Cardinal de Retz 2007 AWARDED AT CONCOURS MONDIAL DE BRUXELLES 2022

Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi has earned another accolade: a few days ago we received advance word from the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

This year the estate entered the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2022 with the Vin Santo del Chianti Rufina Riserva DOC "Cardinal de Retz 2007", and this wine was awarded the silver medal.

The wine is amber in colour with intense tawny shades.

Great aromatic intensity, with remarkable complexity and breadth. Soft notes of dried fig and apricot, almond, caramel, candied orange peel, date and chestnut honey close on sweet spice and a lightly ethereal finish.

On the palate it is sweet, soft and round, with both elegance and power. The gustatory balance is compelling: on a structure carried entirely by an elegant alcoholic note, it finds a supporting freshness. The finish is extremely long, echoing all the notes found on the nose, dried apricot in particular.
