Calici tra le note, the many strings of Sangiovese

On 18 April, Palazzo Gnudi in Bologna will host “Calici tra le note, le varie corde del sangiovese” from 6 pm to midnight. During the event it will be possible to taste wines made from Sangiovese from across Italy, accompanied by the harp of Marianna Gubri.

Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi will take part with the Riserva Chianti Rufina, VILLA BOSSI 2009. For the estate this wine has always represented the fullest expression of the territory, that is, the finest selection of the blend that defines it: 80% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It could be called a Gran Riserva, a Grand Cru, or a wine for contemplation. Always the estate’s flagship, a structured and remarkably long-lived Riserva, it has been produced from these varieties only since 1988.

Appearance: intense, dense ruby red, with fine colour density and light garnet reflections. Nose: a striking impact, with fruit notes of cherry and ripe, macerated blackberry, followed by sweet, well-integrated liquorice spice with balsamic and toasted nuances. The finish reveals notes of cocoa and coffee. Palate: great structure and character. The wine’s fullness is shown in the interplay of softness and tannins of real personality; the finish is long, with fruity and mineral notes closing on a pleasing hint of liquorice.
