Biennale Enogastronomica in Florence

The Biennale Enogastronomica returns to Florence from 10 to 28 November. On 11 November, Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi will take part in this splendid day entitled “E il naufragar m’è dolce in questo mosto”, at the Casa della Biennale (EX3, Viale Giannotti 81-85, Florence) from 5.00 pm.

For the occasion it will be possible to taste several of the estate’s wines, including the Ser Amerigo 2008. At 7.00 pm a seated guided tasting of Tuscan dried-grape wines will begin, led by Leonardo Romanelli.

Marchesi Gondi will also take part in this splendid tasting with the Vinsanto del Chianti Rufina Riserva DOC “Cardinal de Retz 2004”, a wine you will recognise by its appearance: amber with intense tawny shades; on the nose: great aromatic intensity, with remarkable complexity and breadth. Soft notes of walnut, almond, dried fig, caramel, candied fruit, dehydrated white and yellow fruit, date and chestnut honey close on sweet spice and a lightly ethereal finish; and finally on the palate: sweet, soft and round, with both elegance and power. The gustatory balance is compelling: on a structure carried entirely by an elegant alcoholic note, it finds a supporting freshness. The finish is extremely long, echoing all the notes found on the nose, dried fig in particular.
