50th Toscanello d'Oro

In the historic centre of Pontassieve, from 29 May to 2 June 2019, the 50th Toscanello d'Oro will take place, the celebrated Pontassieve festival. Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and Via Tanzini will be entirely devoted to the 'Cittadella e Via del Vino', where visitors can taste the wines of the estates of the Chianti Rufina territory.

Marchesi Gondi – Tenuta Bossi will be there with its own wines: visitors will be able to taste the Chianti Rufina San Giuliano 2017, the Chianti Rufina Riserva Villa Bossi 2013 and the Rosso Colli Toscana Centrale Ser Amerigo 2010.

You will be able to taste in particular the Ser Amerigo, a feminine, seductive, round wine made from a blend of international and native varieties: 40% Merlot, 40% Sangiovese and 20% Colorino. The wine is a lively ruby red with purple reflections. The nose is complex, intense and immediately appealing. One finds varied hints of preserved small red fruits such as wild strawberry, spicy notes of liquorice and cinnamon, opening in the glass with nuances of leather and sweet tobacco. On the palate it is full, with a refined tannic weave and a vivid savouriness, softened by a generous fruity embrace of undergrowth that lends the whole elegance and balance. The finish reveals balsamic and liquorice aromas.

This wine is therefore made of two souls. On the nose it shows the sweet, fruity notes typical of Merlot, while on the palate the persistence and strength of Sangiovese emerge, so characteristic of the Chianti Rufina Territory.
